History of the Education Centre.
The Education Centre has been established at the KCOM Stadium since it first opened in 2002. Originally called Playing for Success, the centre was part of a national programme that established great partnerships and solidified our focus of helping change the way we approach the teaching and learning of English and Maths.
Since the beginning we have established a partnership with Hull City AFC, Hull FC, The Stadium Management Company, Hull City Council Standards and Achievement, Hull College, and a wide variety of other businesses and organisations
Over 8000 young people have attended literacy and numeracy sessions through a variety of education centre initiatives. The centre has worked with the majority of primary, secondary and special schools across the city, as well as a range of post 16 providers.
Run With It is about driving change for young people and we are delighted that both local and national evaluations have shown a significant impact on the progress of individuals attending the centre in reading, writing and mathematics.
Our team work together to ensure young people in Hull have the right education and their skills create a sustainable community.
The Run With It team are a group of passionate and highly qualified teaching and support staff with a wide range of experience working with schools posts 16 providers and other education establishments. Our team are passionate about what they can offer to support educational outcomes for young people and adults. Using the facilities that the KCOM Stadium has to offer, the individuals who take part are supported in the development of five different areas:
- A positive attitude
- A ‘can do’ approach
- Readiness to take part and contribute
- Honesty, integrity and a willingness to learn
